It means non-fiction, something that tells a true story. I learned that in school. I love fancy words like this.

I took a survey of 4 people and nobody knew what it meant. I was the 5th person who had no idea. Not only am I not smarter than a 5th grader (the game show), but apparently I'm not as smart as a child in kindergarten. I'm glad you are learning lots of new things. I think I need to go to school with you and learn new things myself.
